i am completely fascinated with all of this media coverage on charlie sheen! i love his show (two and a half men). and for whatever reason, i have always liked him -- even though he shot a previous girlfriend, has paid numerous prostitutes and porn stars for sex, has a long history of drug abuse (not exactly someone that i look to as a model citizen). i can't stop watching it but it is also so, so sad!
i've been watching many of his interviews lately and he swears that he is not on drugs (even passed a drug test) but i actually HOPE that he is on drugs! if he is not on any drugs then that means he is actually this crazy! he looks like hell. his ramblings make no sense. case in point:
On his natural high: "I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available. If you try it once, you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body." ("20/20.")
On how he survived his other highs: "I probably took more than anybody could survive. ... I was bangin' seven-gram rocks and finishing them because that's how I roll, because I have one speed, one gear. ... I'm different. I have a different constitution, I have a different brain, I have a different heart. I got tiger blood, man. Dying's for fools, dying's for amateurs." ("20/20.")
On partying: "I mean, what's not to love? Especially when you see how I party man, it's epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards, all of them, just look like droopy-eyed, armless children." ("20/20.")
On his dual personality: "I have a 10,000-year-old brain and the boogers of a 7-year-old. That's how I describe myself." ("Piers Morgan Tonight.")
On how he cured himself of addiction: "I closed my eyes and made it so with the power of my mind, and unlearned 22 years of fiction ... the fiction of AA. It's a silly book written by a broken-down fool." ("The Today Show.")
On how he avoids relapsing: "I just don't do it. I will not believe that if I do something then I have to follow a certain path because it was written for normal people. People who aren't special. People who don't have tiger blood and Adonis DNA." ("The Today Show.")
On his desire to be his true self: "I'm tired of pretending I'm not a total bitchin' rock star from Mars, and people can't figure me out; they can't process me. I don't expect them to. You can't process me with a normal brain." ("The Today Show.")
after i wrote all of this, i found jimmy kimmels take on charlie's antics and i think it about sums it all up for me!

today we had a baby shower brunch for my good friend, caitlyn. she is pregnant with her third baby girl. some people might say that you don't need to have a baby shower for the third baby, but i think that every baby deserves to be celebrated and every mom needs diapers for a new baby! well, she got lots of diapers and some cute new outfits for baby gracie.

Picture of the week -- 5 of 52

this picture is probably not very self-explanatory. it is a spot that is smack-dab in the middle of my living room carpet! it's not just any spot -- it is bright RED nail polish! my precocious one was painting the little ones nails. i knew that they were doing it but they had a towel spread out and i didn't know that they had any nail polish that was so dark! anyway, they spilled the bottle...off of the towel. a few days later my wonderful hubby and his friend used carpet cleaner, oxyclean (a miracle concoction) and some major elbow grease and managed to make the spot almost disappear!
